Watch Focus December 12th, 2025: “….Then men began to call on the name of the Lord" and the miracle of Hanukkah
 
We have entered into the Advent Season preparing for the celebration of the Savior’s birth and anticipation of His second coming. The word Advent comes from the Latin adventus, meaning “coming” or “arrival.”

We pray for family, friends, loved ones, coworkers, our neighborhoods, cities, regions and nations to begin to call on the name of the Lord according to Genesis 4:26, “And as for Seth, to him also a son was born; and he named him Enosh. Then men began to call on the name of the Lord.” In a time of moral darkness and wickedness in Genesis people who had not yet called on the name of the Lord BEGAN to seek their Creator. How relevant for our times especially in America and the West. We are seeing flickers of awakening with church attendance up amongst under 30’s.

We pray for an awakening to eternal realities according to Ecclesiastes 3:11, “He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also He has put eternity in their hearts….. Paul encouraged us from Acts 17:26-27, “And He has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined their preappointed times and the boundaries of their dwellings, so that they should seek the Lord, in the hope that they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us;”.

This week from the Watch we embrace the heart of the Lord from Matthew 9:36, “But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd.”

We pray for and welcome the work of the Holy Spirit according to John 16:8, “And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:”

We pray the Lord would send out laborers according to Matthew 9:38, “Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.”

We join our prayers with the Jewish people around the world for a miracle of LIGHT and intervention this Hanukkah. We bind the powers of antisemitism and loose the name of
Jesus to come to the aid of His ancient covenant people.
 
“A Star shall come out of Jacob; a Scepter shall rise out of Israel, and batter the brow of Moab, and destroy all the sons of tumult…while Israel does valiantly. Out of Jacob One shall have dominion” Numbers 24:17,18,19

“Arise, shine; for your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you. For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and deep darkness the people; but the Lord will arise over you, and His glory will be seen upon you.   The Gentiles shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising.” Isaiah 60:1-3
