Remembering 9-11: America, We Turn to God

Friday, September 11, 2020 - During this season of repentance, prayer, and fasting, we remember each of those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001. We honor them today. Lord, continue to comfort the families and loved ones who grieve this great loss of life at the hands of evil. Holy Spirit, hover over the ones who mourn and be near to them.

2 Corinthians 1:3-5, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. For as we share abundantly in Christ's sufferings, so through Christ we share abundantly in comfort too.”

As we remember those taken in this tragedy, Lord, we remember the sacrifice of the courageous first responders who ran toward danger to save the innocent and pour out a spirit of honor over this nation! May we as a people hear and see Jesus in the sacrifices made by our law enforcement officers and first responders. “Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.” (John 15:13) Open the eyes of the deceived to recognize the love and service of those who dedicate themselves to protect us. Give Americans a heart of love and gratitude toward them. May we always honor those who give their all.

Cover our police, our law enforcement, our men and women in uniform in our armed forces serving around the world, our courageous firefighters, and our dedicated critical care workers and medical responders. May the Lord strengthen and comfort them. We commission a fresh wave of angels to take charge over them and move mightily to protect them from any arrows of the enemy. May the God of Angel Armies protect these men and women wherever they are serving.

Psalm 91:4, 11, “He shall cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler. For He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways.”

We pray especially now for those recovering from injuries or from trauma from this wicked rise of violence, rebellion, and hatred directed toward these virtuous warriors. May the Holy Spirit encourage each of them, and may they supernaturally know and see that they have a place of honor in the hearts of many and that their sacrifices are dear to heart of God. Pray for their protection, wisdom and guidance. May they be filled and lifted by the grace of God!

We bind back the evil spirits of witchcraft and murder. We bind back terror and bind all who plot the destruction or harm of America.

Lord, we humble ourselves before You, our King. We declare Your glory and Your lordship, Jesus, over America and over the nations. LET GOD ARISE, LET HIS ENEMIES BE SCATTERED!
